This project is a way to see the way wikipedia pages link to each other, and track your branching course through the interrelated ideas they represent.
If I weren’t just one person, I would make a full-fledged browser that represents the web in this visual paradigm — I see it as a no-brainer. But for now, it’s just a cool little bit of code.
Wikimap was originally written by me in Processing but is now a collaboration between me and Alex Dobner, who rewrote it to pure Java. If you’re interested, check out the source & documentation on google code, and maybe contribute. It’s very much still a work in progress.
